On Wednesday, May 14th 2008 Sigma Phi Epsilon will begin its week of festivities to raise money for Karmic Causes.

Karmic Causes is an organization that was started this year by a member in our own house.  The money that is raised goes towards building schools, water purification plants, and mobile health units in countries that have never had the chance for these luxuries. 

Karmic Causes is partnered with Free The Children and 100% of the money raised will fund each project.  The projects we want to fund are: Mobile health boat off of the west coast of West Bengal and schools in Sri Lanka, China, Sierra Leone, and Kenya.

The list of events during the week include:

       Wednesday, May 14th:  Sig Shot basketball tournament

       Friday, May 16th:  Sig Block block party with various events

       Saturday, May 17th:  Sig Rock concert

This philanthropy has changed greek life at Oregon State by bringing four of the largest houses on campus together.  Kappa Sigma, Sigma Chi, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon asked to join us in this philanthropy and ever since then relations between the houses has never been better.
